The program for the Bell Tower Development includes a 710 car parking deck, a 25 thousand-ton chilled water plant and a new Genome Science Laboratory Building which will provide approximately 210,000 square feet of modern classrooms, laboratories and offices including nine wet labs, four bioinformatics labs, a 250 seat lecture hall, a 450 seat lecture hall, an 80 seat classroom, and four 30 seat seminar rooms, serving faculty, post-doctoral fellows, technicians, graduate students and undergraduates. In addition, an elevated pedestrian walkway will link the Wilson-Dey Building, located north of South Road, with the Sonya Haynes Stone Center, the Bell Tower Development, Fordham Hall, and Medical Drive. The project also will construct a new road running from the southern end of the project south to Manning Drive, and will provide for substantial storm water mitigation for the campus.
Biomedical Research Imaging Building 05/29/2009 $243,500,000.00 The project will construct a 343,000 gsf research laboratory building with two levels below grade eight levels above grade. The building will contain wet laboratories, MRI suites, a cyclotron, NMRs, offices, etc.
Brinkhous Bullitt-Fire Alarm & HVAC Upgrades 02/25/2008 $8,757,276.00 Lab HVAC system is 100% outside air and consists of a large built up dual duct air handling unit, wrapped hot/cold ductwork and lined mixing boxes and diffusers. Need to rebuild the air handling unit including new pre-cool and cold deck coils and provide separate hot/cold deck fans with VFD. The perimeter HVAC system also consists of a large built up air handling unit, wrapped hot/cold ductwork and lined missing boxes and diffuers. The air handling unit must be rebuilt including floor inulation coils and provide separate hot/cold deck fans with VFD. Energy recover systems should also be included for the lab exhaust fans.The existing fire alarm system has been pieced together with three separate systems. The entire facility should have a new maunal and automatic detection devices installed to include duct detectors and coverage in mechanical spaces.

Cameron Substation - AJ1040 10/29/2007 $6,700,000.00 This project entails adding a new line-up of 12.47 kV metal clad switchgear at the Cameron Ave Substation site and interconnection with a newsubstation transformer.
Carmichael Auditorium Addition & Renovation 06/16/2008 $36,417,843.00 The renovation of Carmichael Auditorium shall include the partial replacement of existing auditorium seating, new HVAC system, acoustical treatments, upgrade of existing fire alarm system, an addition of approx. 9,000 SF of museum area, reception area, offices, media room and support spaces for UNC Women's Basketball team.

Dental Sciences Building 05/12/2008 $118,316,525.00 Approximately 216,000 SF of instructional, research, and academic/research support spaces. The complex shall be sited on the northeast corner of Manning and South Columbia. The project will require the decommissioning and demolition of the existing Dental Office and Dental Research Buildings (approx. 54,000 SF) and renovations to porto will be sited in such a manner to allow for a pedestrian bridge to cross over Manning Drive and connect the new complex to Thurston Bowles.

Manning Drive Steam Plant Phase 2A 06/08/2005 $27,526,524.00 Construct new steam plant on Manning Drive. The plant will provide additional reliablity with second point of steam delivery for campus and near the hospital.
Medical Research 'D' Building Renovation 07/01/2009 $6,150,000.00 This project seeks to renovate the existing Medical Research 'D' Building to accommodate the installation of a new Tesla-9 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) unit based on a recently completed programming report. The design effort will include developing strategies for building occupancy and the continuous use of an existing MRI unit in the building during the construction phase of the project. In addition, assessment of an existing utility support to the building and the design of a new service to accommodate the new MRI units will also be part of this project.
Research Resource Facility Building III 03/30/2009 $25,000,000.00 The University has a master plan for the development of the Research Resource Facility. The site for the facility is located in Orange County and site plan approval from the county has been obtained. The University now wants to implement the master plan in phases. Coordinate the development of site infrastructure elements such as water supply and sewage disposal, fencing, security and roads, as well as roughly a dozen buildings planned to be constructed in a number of phases.
Science Complex Phase II - Physical Sciences Building 03/21/2008 $92,101,671.00 Construction of new Science Building on the Venable Hall site.
South Columbia Street Narrowing-Town of CH Stipulations Phase 2 11/06/2007 $3,410,000.00 Develop plans to narrow the roadway and to provide enhanced landscaping and pedestrian amenities on South Columbia Street between the intersection with Manning Drive and the intersection with South Road. The project will include a master plan for the streetscape on sides of the street, construction documents for the west side of the street. The improvements will include signal and crosswalk improvements at 2 intersections. This plan will be coordinated with improvements already designed for the intersection of South Road and S. Columbia St. The plans will meet stipulations included in the Campus Development Plan for this area and campus guidelines for streetscapes along our campus streets.
South Substations Electrical System Improvements 09/21/2009 $4,000,000.00 This project will provide medium voltage electrical distribution at South Substations. New buildings will be constructed to house the new switchgear.
Sports Medicine Facility Phase 2 06/16/2008 $10,207,559.00 The project will convert the gym floor (approx. 4,900 sq-ft) and the large area above the gym (approx. 3,000 sq-ft) into a facility to include: new athletic training room, small nutrition clinic, small physician's office, staff office space, teaching laboratory, and conference room. The facility will be unique in that it will function as a clinical and educational facility to be shared by Athletics, Exercise and Sport Science, and Student Health Services. The renovation will be funded primarily by contributions from Athletics and Student Affairs (student fees). Arts and Sciences/EXSS will provide regular maintenance and upkeep for the facility.

Water Reclamation & Reuse Infrastructure Phase 2 06/04/2009 $16,504,613.00 This project will install a wastwater reuse system with a pumping station at the OWASA Mason Farm Wastewater Treatment Plant and distribution piping to and through out the University Campus. This project will provide wastewater reuse capability to chilled water facilities, steam and electric generating facilities and major irrigation users, such as the Botanical Gardens and Athletic playing fields. Distribution piping will be installed in phases in conjunction with other capital projects for optimal pricing.
